I know I’m in my own little bubble here on the web, but there is mounting evidence and outright admission that the election was stolen. What will it take?
They are using the Alien Enemies Act, not the Sedition Act. This is actually way more important than just nitpicking, I promise. The sedition Act of 1798 was repealed in 1801. There was a second version that appeared in 1918, that was repealed in 1920. So, there is no Sedition Act that exists. The reason this is important is because they are using an untested legal theory to invoke Alien Enemies. This is why the executive orders on invasion, national emergency and Tren de Aragua as a terrorist org are important. It's also important that Biden also named them a terrorist org. Trump went further and said they were directly tied to Venezuelan president Nicholas Maduro. This doesn't exist in a vacuum. ( I wrote about this in depth when the Act was invoked) The issue here is that the court has never actually decided this issue. Now, Ludecke v. Watkins did say that Alien Enemies could be invoked if there was not actual war. I don't' agree that this current situation is what the ruling had in mind. But, it exists and the argument isn't as far fetched or out of legal bounds as people are claiming it is. If this is allowed to stand, it will be way more far reaching than just the issue of immigration. I can not stress enough that not everything they are doing is just to be bat shit crazy, even if it seems that way. This has been methodical since day one. They are testing really obscure legal theory to ultimately legislate from the Executive Branch. And there are some things, like this....that are not promised to be shot down if it gets to SCOTUS. We throw 'Constitutional Crisis' around a lot these days, but the Alien Enemies Act showdown is as close to a nation altering case as we have seen in decades. Even more important than Roe. (and Roe was HUGE)
I made your correction, tagged, quoted, and credited you.
Like, I’m not about the “We go high they go low” shit, but we need to make sure that what we write is factual and accurate. I’m actually a fiction writer by training, so this is my first real foray into something journalist-adjacent. 💜
There are lots of reasons to question the results of the election. Primarily because there are many things that violate basic laws of probability. Either Trump got so lucky that he managed something that would never happen or he cheated. Which sounds more like him?
I don’t understand why election integrity & the lack thereof is not being addressed. Nobody wants to touch it with a ten foot pole- despite all of the statistical analysis proving manipulation.
Because trump’s been saying the election is rigged since 2016. He’s made it so questioning it is seen as insane because he’s said it so fucking much. Remember? He said the election was rigged because he didn’t win the popular vote in 2016. And now when we have evidence, they’re being scared to silence. There’s also a healthy amount of denial that we’re immune to rigged elections, even though the republicans have been rigging elections for years with voter suppression and gerrymandering
I agree 100% with everything you wrote with one exception and that is regarding the vote being hacked. I live in GA and have been an election worker since 2020. I've been involved with testing voting machines prior to every election since then. Local, primaries, presidential, all of them. GA uses the infamous Dominion machines that the right wing loves to talk shit about and that cost Faux Noise 3/4 of a billion dollars for said shit talk. When you vote on a Dominion machine you insert a card that is programmed for the election you're voting in. All your choices come up on a touchscreen where you make your selections. After you're finished you are asked to review your selections. If you are satisfied with your selections you print your ballot. Before putting your ballot into the scanner a poll worker asks you if you reviewed your paper ballot to make sure it's correct. You then insert your ballot into the scanner. These paper ballots are required by GA law to be retained for 2 years. In 2020 after Donnie Dumbfuck contested the election results there was an automatic recount. Then there was a hand recount of the paper ballots. Then there was an audit. All the results came back the same. In 2024 for the election to have been stolen at least in GA, and I believe in any state using Dominion equipment it would have had to have happened at the State level, as these machines are never hooked to the internet and are only loaded with data that is sent out from the Secretary of States office. I'm not a believer in conspiracy theories, because there's an old saying that the only way 3 people can keep a secret is if 2 of them are dead. There would have been multiple people in multiple states involved in hacking the election and someone would have talked. The Republinazis didn't have to hack the voting machines because they have been perfecting voter suppression for decades. I suggest you read Thom Hartmanns book about the republican war on voting. Keeping Black and Brown people away from the polls is way easier than a vast conspiracy to hack the machines.
We need people like AOC, Bernie, Adam Kinzinger and a few others to form a new party that will work for the non Trumptard, working class and tax the fucking billionaires and churches out of existence. Keep up the great writing Ana, and I'll keep supporting you.
Oh there is all of that too. Didn’t even TOUCH on gerrymandering and voter suppression. Legit Substack was yelling at me because my post was too long 😅. Like I said, it’s not just one way or thing, it’s a combination. There’s a culmination of multiple factors that combined to create a perfect storm. I think if they tried this and Kamala had won by an overwhelming margin they wouldn’t have gotten away with it
I enjoyed reading your articles. What about the election hacks, muskRAT, and Russians, and buying votes? And bomb threats? I KNEW something was fishy!!!!
The evidence that grows by the day shows that the hack in swing states was not to the voting machines, it was to the TABULATORS (aka the “vote counting machines,” as a certain person likes to say). And it didn’t happen on Election Day, but during Early Voting.*
Greg Palast’s work showing the voter suppression is very impressive and appalling but he disparages hacking to everyone’s detriment, as the bigger story is that Harris almost certainly won REGARDLESS of voter suppression.
*PA is the exception, as they don't have Early Voting.

Thank you! No please if I need to correct this 4 times I will. It’s important
Oh good! I’m so glad I didn’t offend. This was a great article though. It truly was. You hit the nail on the head in almost every line.
Also hell no, I’d rather be corrected than have an important error.

I agree, if that helps.
I’m starting to see more and more thank god. (not that anything is talked about on the news but fuck them)

Oh yeah I just scraped the surface of the dung heap! I’m planing part 2! (had a bit of a backslide on my mental health but I’m getting back!
Thank you!! Looking forward to it!!
